Williams County Board Member Needed
NOCAC IS SEEKING AN INTERESTED PERSON TO REPRESENT THE CLIENT SECTOR OF WILLIAMS COUNTY ON THE NOCAC BOARD.Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission (NOCAC) is seeking an interested person to represent Williams County low-income consumers on the NOCAC Board. The person must reside or work in Williams County and must be low-income themselves or be elected by low-income consumers. An election will be held on Monday May 6th at the Pulaski Head Start Center located at 006678 US Route 127 in Pulaski at 5:30 p.m. Each of the six counties served by NOCAC has one representative from the public, private and client sector. The Board sets policy for the Agency. Board meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in Defiance at the NOCAC Central Office. Mileage and child care is reimbursed for low-income individuals serving as Board members. NOCAC is a private non-profit, social service agency providing services to predominantly low-income residents of Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Van Wert and Williams counties. NOCAC operates the Head Start preschool program, the Home Weatherization Assistance program, Elderly Home Repair program, Home Energy Assistance programs, Child Care and Nutrition programs, Financial Empowerment/Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), Emergency Services, temporary Emergency and permanent Housing for Homeless and formerly Homeless, a Soup Kitchen and Case Management services. Operational funding is received from Federal and State grants and local United Way and private contributions.
