Summer Food Service Program
Sunny skies, fun activities, community volunteers and delicious, healthy meals…..that’s all included in the plans for this year’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The program will start in June and we will be ready to provide meals and fun activities to a record breaking number of participants at all sites.
NOCAC is working with the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and the United States Agricultural Department (USDA) to sponsor the SFSP. The program provides free, nutritious meals for all area children ages 1-18 or to age 21 with an IEP. (All children under age 5 must be accompanied by an adult.) No registration is required but participants are asked to sign in at the site so NOCAC can keep an accurate count of the number of meals that are served.
A site supervisor for each location will help plan and schedule curriculum, conduct outreach, and teach children about healthy nutrition. We need the help of our community to make the program successful. Community volunteers including individuals, families, business members, or community groups help serve food, clean-up, assist with the sign-in procedure, and/or provide fun, recreational and educational activities.
