Tax Preparation Program
EXCITING NEWS FOR THE 2021 TAX SEASON
In partnership with the IRS, NOCAC’s Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) will be offering free Federal, State and School District tax preparation through MyFreeTaxes.com. In addition, we are taking part in the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, which provides free assisted tax preparation for qualified taxpayers.
MyFreeTaxes.com is a free, safe and easy way for individuals to file for free! Unlike many free offerings, there are no income requirements and there are no hidden fees for state returns! There may be small fees if the return requires a Schedule C, D, or E. It is done completely online and can only be accessed through the link below.
When using MyFreeTaxes.com for your Ohio state tax return, the software will ask you to for your county and school district. Unfortunately, this will NOT automatically create your School District return. So, if you reside in a school district that has an income tax, you will ALSO need to create a School District return form, SD-100. (See picture below)
For assistance, you can call the MyFreeTaxes.com help line: 866-698-9435.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is a volunteer-driven program that assists taxpayers in preparing their Federal, State and School District taxes for free. We will be holding tax clinics throughout Defiance, Williams, Paulding and Fulton counties this year. Tax clinics are by appointment only. There is an income limit of $56,000 per return and all taxpayers must be present at the time of preparation. Social Security cards are needed for all taxpayers and dependents claimed on the tax return.
To set up an appointment please contact our Tax Hotline at (419) 990-5134.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact our Tax Hotline at 419-990-5134. For information on your Civil Rights as a taxpayer, please view this document.
