October is Ohio’s Weatherization Month
October is proclaimed as “Weatherization Month”, the 30th is “Weatherization Day”. Governor DeWine has signed a resolution to recognize October as Weatherization Month and acknowledge the successful efforts of the Home Weatherization Assistance Program to reduce energy usage and boost local economies throughout Ohio.
The goal for the Northwestern Ohio Community Action (NOCAC), Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) is to provide permanent solutions to reduce the energy burden on low-income families by installing cost effective, energy-efficient materials and services and achieve results in energy savings for income eligible individuals. We work to make homes safe, comfortable and energy efficient. Our technicians use computerized energy audits and advanced diagnostic technologies, such as a blower door to determine the most cost-effective measures for each home. They also assess related health and safety conditions. Our technicians check furnaces and other appliances for carbon monoxide.
An average of $7,669.00 in material & labor can be installed per unit
Income eligibility is 200% of the federal poverty guidelines
NOCAC provides service to the six county areas to include Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Van Wert and Williams. If interested in applying for HWAP services, please contact the IVR Call Center to set up an appointment: 419-219-4641 or schedule an appointment online.
