The month of May has been designated Community Action Month in order to recognize the positive impact Community Action agencies provide for their local communities. Together, these agencies work to help thousands of families achieve self-sufficiency.
This month allows Community Action agencies the opportunity to highlight the work that they do to help struggling families reach economic stability. It also provides everyone in the community a first-hand look at poverty that exists in their own neighborhoods.
Community Action Month is a time to honor and celebrate the impact agencies have in making our communities – and our nation – stronger.
