Community Services

Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB)

The Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission has been a leader in bringing the services of the Ohio Benefit Bank program to our service area.  Providing one-on-one assistance, trained counselors assist individuals to prepare and file federal, state (Ohio only), and school tax returns free of charge while helping them apply for various tax credits and refunds.  The program also simplifies the process of applying for various public assistance programs (such as FAFSA, WIC, SNAP, Prescription Assistance, etc.), helping to provide relief to low and middle income families. These programs are designed to keep money in the pockets of community members.
