Financial Training Opportunities
NOCAC’s Financial Empowerment Program (FEP) has a variety of opportunities designed to increase the financial competence, confidence, and capacity of clients.
Getting Ahead is an eight week course that uses ‘kitchen table talk’ to explore and overcome the challenges facing limited-income families. Participants ‘investigate’ their own lives to connect to the community and build resources. This course is incentivized. Getting Ahead is open to the public and available in every county NOCAC serves. We are always recruiting! If you’re interested in learning more about how Getting Ahead can help you move forward, contact Tracey Backhaus, Getting Ahead Facilitator at (419) 990-5136 x 3129 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Financial Literacy Classes are also available on topics like: budgeting, credit/credit repair, identity theft prevention, and saving for the future. Classes are between 60-90 minutes in length and provide tools, resources, and real world solutions for individuals and families in Northwest Ohio! FEP Financial Literacy Classes are available at a location near you. For more information, contact Amy McMaster, FEP Specialist, at (419) 990-5136 x 3122 or email@example.com.
Bridges Out of Poverty is a six hour workshop that presents a comprehensive approach to understanding the dynamics that cause and perpetuate poverty on individual and systemic levels. Examining the issue from the perspective of economic class, this workshop provides tools and resources to empower communities to alleviate and prevent poverty. Bridges is open to the public. CEUs are available. For more information or to register contact Dustin Fuller, FEP Coordinator, at (419) 990-5136 x 3114 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
