The NOCAC Emergency Shelter is located at 1939 E. Second St. in the Richland Place Building in Defiance.   Housing services are provided to homeless persons and families in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding and Williams Counties.  Funding is provided by the Ohio Department of Development Office of Housing and Community Partnerships

A maximum of 20 homeless persons can be provided emergency shelter at any one time.  Shelter services are provided for up to 45 days.  Men, women, children, and Families are all accepted. While in shelter a case manager works closely with the individual or family to identify and work towards the goal of achieving independent housing. Assistance and referrals are provided to address issues such as employment, mental health, budgeting, and access to community resources as well as nutrition, health, and transportation.

Once housing is established, staff at Richland Place/PATH Center provide on-going case management to families and individuals for up to 2 years with the goal of preventing repeated homelessness.

Single Room Occupancy Apartments:

Located on the second floor of the Richland Place building are seven Single Room Occupancy (SRO) apartments. These are HUD subsidized units.  Tenants pay 30% of their income for rent.  SRO housing is available to single persons who are homeless at the time of application.  Yearly leases may be renewed for an unlimited period of time.

Case management services are available to all tenants.  Staff works closely with residents on goal setting and achievement including continuing education, job readiness, nutrition and self-care. All Richland Place PATH Center services are available to SRO tenants.
