Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission provides access to a variety of community service programs to assist families and individuals who are experiencing a crisis or find themselves in need of temporary assistance.

Community Service Programs Include:

• Assistance with Heating and Cooling Costs
  help with cost of heating or cooling your home if you meet eligibility requirements
• Assistance with Rent and Deposits
  to prevent homelessness
• Assistance with prescriptions
   
• Assistance with clothing for employment purposes
   
• Commodity Food Distribution
  help with providing food for yourself or your family
• Soup Kitchen/Drop-In Center
  for a hot meal, fellowship, community activities
• Services for the Homeless
  help with finding housing and to develop skills to maintain housing in the future; provide emergency shelter
• Individual Development Accounts
  help with saving for education, purchasing a home, or starting a small business
• C.H.O.I.C.E.S.
  budgeting and life skills training program
• Assist by Donating or Volunteering
  provide help for our clients by donating your time or needed items
• Home Weatherization Services
  help with insulation; venting in kitchens, laundry, & bath; heating system repairs or specified other home repairs.

Each program has specific guidelines including income eligibility. The majority of emergency assistance programs require income eligibility within 125% to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Contact a NOCAC Community Service Office for more information.
